Memorial Day Weekend

Grandad and Grammy came up for the long weekend and visited us with Uncle Brandon and Auntie Toral.  We did a lot of eating, talking, and walking around Pacifica.

Grandad et Grammy sont venus pour le long weekend et nous ont rendu visite avec tonton Brandon et tata Toral.  On a beaucoup mangé, parlé, et marché autour de Pacifica.

My Fourth Week

This week, I have just been hanging out with Obaachan and Pépère. My clothes are starting to feel tighter.

Cette semaine, j'ai passé du temps avec Obaachan et Pépère. Mes vêtements commencent à être un peu serrés.

I am starting to enjoy my baths a little more. 

Je commence à aimer prendre mon bain un peu plus.

 

I also took my first ride in the stroller.

J'ai aussi fait ma première balade en poussette.

Daddy gave me my first bottle when I turned four weeks old. 

Papa m'a donné mon premier biberon à quatre semaines. 

Meeting Obaachan and Pépère

My Japanese grandmother (Obaachan) and French grandfather (Pépère) flew from France to meet me. They are visiting for three weeks so we can bond before I go visit them in France for Christmas. We have already met over skype, but it is much better in person!

Ma grand-mère japonaise (Obaachan) et mon grand-père français (Pépère) sont venus me voir de France. Ils sont ici trois semaines pour passer du temps avec moi, avant ma visite en France prévue pour Noël. Nous nous sommes déjà rencontrés sur Skype, mais c'est beaucoup mieux en personne!

My Third Week

Enough photos already!

On Monday, we went to see the pediatrician to make sure that I am eating well and growing as expected.  The goal was to reach my birth weight again.  Weighing in at 9lbs, 7oz, I was almost a pound above!

Lundi, nous sommes allés chez la pédiatre pour vérifier que je mange et grandis bien.  Je devais avoir récupéré mon poids de naissance, et je faisais 4.3kg!

Daddy went back to work this week, but at least he got to work from home on Friday.

Papa est retourné travailler cette semaine, mais au moins il a pu travailler de la maison vendredi.

On Saturday, my umbilical cord fell off...

Samedi, mon cordon ombilical est tombé...

...which means I can finally have a real bath!

...ce qui veut dire que je peux enfin prendre un vrai bain!

Happy Mother's Day

At only two weeks old, I already got to celebrate Mother's Day with my Mom.

A seulement deux semaines, j'ai déjà pu célébrer la fête des mères avec maman.

We also had some visitors: Aurélie and Ryan, and Grandma Lesley.

Nous avons aussi eu des visiteurs: Aurélie et Ryan, et Grandma Lesley.

My Second Week

We had a busy week.  I'm officially a French citizen now.  We went to the French consulate in San Francisco on Wednesday where I received my official French birth certificate.  I'm all set to get a French passport and start touring Europe now.

Nous avons eu une semaine bien occupée.  Je suis officiellement citoyen français maintenant.  Nous sommes allés au consulat de France à San Francisco mercredi et j'ai reçu mon acte de naissance officiel et mon carnet de santé.  Je peux maintenant obtenir mon passeport français et commencer à visiter l'Europe.

Brandon and Toral brought us dinner (a delicious lasagna) on Thursday.

Brandon et Toral nous ont apporté le dîner jeudi soir (des lasagnes délicieuses).

On Friday, we took our first walk on the beach.

Vendredi, nous nous sommes promené à la plage pour la première fois.

Friends Come to Visit

We had another visit from Shiraz on Friday and Jo and Parker came by on Sunday to meet me and brought some yummy homemade Mexican food.

Shiraz est repassé nous voir vendredi, et Jo et Parker sont venus dimanche pour me rencontrer et nous ont amené des plats mexicains faits maison.

Grandad and Grammy Come Visit

Grandad and Grammy came to visit from Carlsbad.  We got to celebrate Grammy and Uncle Brandon's birthdays with them.  We even got to take our first walk through the neighborhood.

Grandad et Grammy sont venus nous voir de Carlsbad.  Nous avons célébré les anniversaires de Grammy et Oncle Brandon avec eux.  Nous avons méme fait notre première balade dans le quartier.

Aunties Come Visit

Auntie Jen and Auntie Nikki drove all the way from San Diego to come meet me and help mom and dad out.  They prepared meals, ran errands, and of course, got to hold me.  They left on Saturday.

Tante Jen et tante Nikki ont fait la route de San Diego pour venir me rencontrer, et aider maman et papa.  Elles ont cuisiné, fait les courses, et j'ai passé du temps dans leurs bras.  Elles sont reparties samedi.

Going Home

We checked out of the hospital and I went for my first car ride on Tuesday (May 1, 2012).

Nous sommes sortis de l'hôpital et j'ai fait mon premier tour en voiture mardi (1 mai 2012).

When we got home, I got to meet the rest of the family.  Grandma Lesley had been taking care of everyone and left some home cooked meals in the fridge.

Quand nous sommes arrivés à la maison, j'ai rencontré le reste de la famille.  Grandma Lesley s'était occupé de tout le monde et nous avait même préparé quelques repas et rempli le frigo.
